Day 2

...Leaving Fairview Heights, Illinois.... As we slowly trickled onto the bus Bailey prepared her song for us. When we all finally arrived on the bus Bailey led us in the song "Big Fish, Little Fish." Then Marietta gave us her thought for the day, "A slip of the foot you may soon recover, but a slip of the tongue you may never get over." Marietta drew her inspiration from Benjamin Franklin. Marietta then gave us some trivia and we were awarded candy if we got an answer right! We then came up with three different chants!

- the first chant:
Leader: box turtle
Rest of us: Kansas
L: buffalo
RU: Kansas
L: Cottonwood
RU: Kansas
L: meadowlark
RU: Kansas
L: crazy weather
RU: Kansas

-the second chant:
To the K, to the A, to the N, to the SAS
(Say 3 times)
What's that spell? Kansas!
(Say 2 times)

-the third chant:
(to the Addams family tune)
Kansas
Missouri
4-H
We're not in Kansas no more
The wicked witch is folklore
We've packed our ruby slippers to find no place like home.

After the chants we watched the first movie of the trip, 8 Seconds! Then we stopped for lunch in Louisville, Kentucky! After lunch we decided it was nap/movie time. We watched Inside Out meanwhile some of us slept! But, because we had been on the bus for quite some time we got to have a break and the bus filled up with gas at about 3:45 in Mount Sterling, Kentucky! After the break we loaded back on the bus and hit the road once again! Then we watched another movie called Grand Champion. The. About 5:45 we arrived at our hotel in Charlestown, WV. After we got settled into our rooms we wandered over to the mall to do some eating and shopping! While at the mall Kinsey, Tessa, and Jade had a rebellious moment and got their ears pierced! (Yes, their mothers approved) After the hotel we met with our chaperones then we hit the hay!
